About the Festival
Smile, breathe and go slowly
SMILE, Together We Can, was launched on 12th April 2020, when we first came together to explore teaching and learning on a distance learning platform. The founding motivation behind the initiative was to help connect our children and families, psychologically, socially, and emotionally i.e. in spirit and heart so that they did not experience the isolation, anxiety and discomfort of remaining geographically apart.
Beginning with our very first April SMILE, our shared SMILES soon became a powerful contagion reaching out to more than 12,000 children, parents and families across the length and breadth of our country and abroad. As part of the initiative, children had the chance to meet and interact with peers from varied schools across the country and collaborate with them on unique change-making projects. They also enjoyed the opportunity to learn and be inspired by trailblazing thought- leaders and guests.
‘It’s a SMILE World!’ is a three-day festival planned to celebrate and honour the extraordinary courage, grace and resilience with which each one of them – children, parents and teachers came together to brave the odds and stretch their SMILEs far and wide.
We are extremely fortunate to have ten distinguished atithis of extraordinary eminence from diverse fields, who have each kindly consented to grace the occasion and share their wisdom and insights with us.
The festival offers an unparalleled opportunity for young learners to meet, interact and be inspired by pioneering thought-leaders and change-makers; an experience that is sure to inspire new passions and ignite a renewed sense of purpose, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
As valued SMILE ambassadors, we invite you to gather together with friends and family, and join us as we spread a spread a contagion of hope, healing and happiness.
